took my box braids out… if u couldn’t tell.
i missed my curls. i loved having box braids tho. here are some things i would do differently.
- make sure my hair is all one color - especially because i was adding purple to it, it almost didn’t match.
- go to a professional - i LOVED the way my friend Quita did it, and i’m not knockin her style (HIT HER UP), but i think they would’ve lasted longer if i went to an African Braiding Shop.
- take better care of them - i didn’t wrap them at night and my ends started to look a hot mess. that wasn’t the reason why i took them down, but the style would’ve lasted longer if i properly took care of it.
- not do the cornrows on the side - because they were somewhat uneven section, styling was difficult and the braids needed to be redone. once i wanted this, i realized my roots were showing everywhere - thats why i took them out.
next time i would probably get senegalese twists… maybe for the summer during camp. :)
